Sensible power management
Like most people, I want to be energy efficient, but I suspect like most people I often forget to power off things connected to it that use transformers (e.g., USB hub, monitor, etc.). Thankfully technology has come to the rescue. The intelliplug from oneclickpower is a power splitter with one master socket and two slave sockets. You plug your PC into the master socket, and then peripherals into the slave sockets. When your PC is up and running the slave sockets are powered up, but when you power down the PC or put it to sleep the slave sockets are powered down. A simple idea, but a useful one.
Hopefully now that I have a PC (my usual computers is an all-in-one iMac) this’ll solve the problem of powering many things for a single computer.
