You could have it so much better

8 Oct 2005

Rushed out on Monday (despite being ill) to grab the new Franz Ferdinand album, You Could Have It So Much Better. Liek their first album, it’s a cracking collection of songs. A bit less sassy than the first album, but still wonderfully quirky, and musically richer. It’s got the well drive punk fare, with The Fallen and This Boy being good examples, but it also has softer and more acoustic tracks such as the excellent sixtiesesque Eleanor Put Your Boots on. I wasn’t at first struck on the first single from the album, and was expecting it to not be as good as the first one, but it’s just as good. Run, don’t walk to Fopp :)
