Some more music reviews. I can’t believe I failed to blog this (at least I didn’t under the music section), but a while back I got the Franz Ferdinand album, and it is really good - a good fun album which I highly recommend. All the tracks are great, with particular faves being Dark of the Matinee and Michael (I’d like it even if it wasn’t called Michael, honest, unlike some people :). Take Me Out, Fire, Darts of Pleasure, all great. It’s not the deepest form of music, but it’s excellent listening.

In a similar vein I just this weekend got the Kaiser Cheifs’ album Employment. Took me a few listens to get into, as it’s not all as immediately brilliant as the single, Oh My God. But after a fwe listens I’ve been bopping away to it in the kitchen whilst cooking (there are a few things you can be glad you’ll never witness, that being one of them). Nowhere near as exciting as the FF album, but not bad. I was worried that Oh My God would be the only good track, but the album’s not bad.

Another album I’ve had a while, Superfox by Funky Monkey (no, I kid ye not). Not amazing, but happens to fit into a certain niche that I like - it reminds me of the ambient/atmospheric electronica from early/mid 90s demos on the PC like Second Reality by Future Crew. And they do a cover of The Great Gig in the Sky, which is good, though not that radical a departure in terms of style from the original.
