The good old exchange rate

It’s always been the way that computer goods (like a lot of other goods I guess) have heir prices inflated mysteriously as they transfer from the US to the UK. The following quote on the Register amused (in some way):

If you’re in the UK and you’re after a 15" PowerBook with Superdrive, it’s once again cheaper to fly to New York and buy it there: the price difference is 568 pounds.

Of course, the big question would be what would you do on the way over?
