There are some times that, despite how nice Cambridge is, I miss Glasgow. Such times are generally after 10 pm on a weekday, after 5 pm on Sunday, or bank holidays, as everything actually shuts. Well, everything is a slight exageration, but I had to trapse across town today to get some simple food stuffs to eat and a paper (oh, how I miss my bike). Having lived close to the main street of one on Glasgow’s more active/happening neighbourhoods, I’ve been spoiled and have lost all my hoarding instincts. Oh, for all the world how I miss Peckhams - the ability to nip round the corner for life’s essentials (like good German beer and parmasan) between 10am and midnight (well, the beer stops a little earlier) is something I sorely miss. I’ve thus far not found a suitable substitute for Peckham’s here, so if anyone knows of such a thing in Cambridge then do drop a comment here.
