Murder City

9 Apr 2004

Gah, despite promising I wouldn’t, I’ve got into watching Murder City. If you’ve not seen/heard anything about it, it’s a crime drama very much in the CSI model, with your typical odd couple set of detectives, played by Amanda Donohoe (the straight laced one) and Kris Marshall (the eccentric one). Kris Marshall tends to steal the show, once you get over the fact that he’s not playing his ditzy stereotype from My Family :) It’s nowhere near as slick as CSI or Law & Order Criminal Intent, and at times you do wonder if they let the intern run the show for a few scenes before someone noticed, but I guess that’s part of it’s charm. It’s also a bit longer than the US shows, and thus tends to pack a more twisted Tagartian plot (though, not nearly as many deaths as Tagart had :).
