Last weekend (ahem) Laura and I attended Goodwood Revival. For those not familiar with it, Revival is a weekend long automotive equivalent of a historic reenactment event, set across the 30s to 60s, all hosted by Lord March at Goodwood, a mecca for motorsport and automative enthusiasts. It’s not the sort of thing either Laura or I would have attended had we not been invited along by one of Laura’s work colleagues, who happened to be racing in one of the events, but I’m rather glad we did.
...In a break from my usual very minimal desktop, I’ve been having fun the last few days running Tom Taylor’s Satellite Eyes, a little app that sets your desktop background to a map of your current location.

Although I generally don’t like a noisy desktop image, I’ve been very much enjoying the context that Satellite Eyes gives you. It’s a nice way to remind yourself that there’s a world around you – the zoom level is set so that you can see bits of your area you probably haven’t given much thought to on your daily commute.
...Over the years, for some unfathomable reason, I seem to have gathered a reputation as someone who drinks coffee, and nice coffee at that. One side effect of this is people often ask me to recommend coffee shops that might provide them with nice coffee.
At the moment it seems a particularly good time to be trying to find good coffee out there – the standard of coffee shops seems to have shot up in the last couple of years (or, perhaps, I’ve only just noticed it).
