I finally plucked up the courage to try a Café Bombón, being served by my regular coffee haunt this last year, Pages. It’s apparently a Spanish drink, made of espresso and condensed milk. It looks very pretty like this, but you stir it up before drinking (unless you want espresso with a condensed milk chaser I guess). It’s very intense as you might imagine: strong, sweet coffee. Being a small drink, it was just the right amount, and not something I’d want regularly, but I quite enjoyed it. It reminded me a bit of Vietnamise Coffee, which is drip coffee and condensed milk, but that was too sweet and, as a long drink, too much for me.

A photo of a small glass on a saucer, on a table outside a cafe. In the glass is a layered drink, where the bottom half is white, being made of condensed milk, and the top half a dark brown, being made with espresso. There is a tea spoon on the saucer also, which is for stirring the drink before you sip it.
