We went for a walk at Queen’s View, just north of Strathblane, out on the wonderfully named Stockiemuir Road. I remember coming here with my parents when I was young(er): as you ascend the hill you get some great views all the way up to Loch Lomond, Ben Lomond and many other hills. I’d have known the name of the hills back then thanks to a view point plate which detailed all that you could see, but that is now gone, leaving me to be sad at the sight of this naked plinth, and ignorant of the wonderful landscape that surrounded us.
