Utilikilt

22 Aug 2009

I’ve been wanting to get a kilt for ages, but they’re not cheap, and probably not something I’d wear that often, so it’s been on the bottom of my shopping list for quite a while. I was quite jealous when my brother recently got a black rock & roll suitable kilt when his band did some promo work for a kilt shop. Then Laura spotted Cory Doctorow tweet about how he was coping with the summer (whilst making bad puns :), and we found Utilikilts, a sort of cross between a kilt and some combat trousers :)

Though still not cheap, they look good and are somewhat more practical (sporrans are not designed for modern living, where as the utilikilt can hold size beers, aparently :) thus more likely to be worn. So we ordered one last month and yesterday it arrived!

It’s well made, comfortable, and has enough pocket space to carry my wallet, iPhone, and such without issue. There’s some more pictures over here if you’re feeling up to it :) Anyway, I’m very happy with my Utilikilt, and really do recommend them!
