Yesterday I thought I’d give the lab’s Roomba a whirl. The Roomba is a hoovering robot – the future is here indeed :)

It seems to do a good job, and it’s fun when it vanishes under the sofas – you have that “will it ever come back out?” moment, but thus far it has. Though it does have a lemming like quality – it did try and throw itself down the stairs, despite the fact I thought it was meant to be cleverer than that. Its near miss did seem to upset it too – afterwards it just wailed for a while when I tried to set it going. I imagine I’d feel the same had I just almost fallen down the stairs. Oh well – otherwise quite good :)
