The illusion of decay
I find urban and industrial decay quite fascinating – how the manmade environment is subject to the same decay as the rest of nature the moment we turn our backs. It can produce some beautiful relics, and also some very interesting textures – my photo library is full of abstract textures from urban environments. Here’s one I found today:
Here, without context, this decayed Ford tractor grill looks almost like an optical illusion, the way the dots and lines converge (more evident in the larger picture I think – click through to see).
