Slick home films

8 Dec 2006

I’ve always been interested in using the continuous increase in computer power to allow people to edit and do more with rich media – just look at iLife for a great example of that. People wonder why we want more processor power – now people can edit home movies in a way that only studios could do a few years ago. This not only allows people make their home video collection snazzier, but is a great too for amateurs wanting to experiment in fields like photography, film production, and music production, allowing those with talent to practice directly (or those without talent too ;). In addition, increasing network performance allows easy ways for these rich media types to be exchanged through places like YouTube and so on.

Anyway, here’s an example of a home movie that amused me and prompted the above micro rant. I dread to think how long it took them to shoot and edit (no separate photographer is credited!), and it has some wonderful moments in it.
