Recipe for success

11 Jul 2006

I’ve just been trying out a green thai chicken recipe I found in the first Jamie Oliver book, which is quite nice, though I suspect very different from what it’s meant to be, as I don’t have a food processor, and this chopped everything by hand, and thus have a unusual texture to it, but it’s quite nice. I’m a bit of a thai green curry fan it has to be said.

In Cambridge the place to go for thai food is the Wrestler’s pub on Newmarket Road (the place with the very homoerotic sign…) – which isn’t a highbrow establishment, but does good food, and a popular lunchtime destination (I gather a rather rougher pub in the evening, or so I’ve been warned). My favourite dish there at the moment has to be the beef ka pow, but probably the most popular choice all round is their Green Chicken Curry. Bob pointed out to me that someone has tried to recreate the recipe for those that can’t get enough of it.
