Managed to get Ubuntu set up nicely on the T41. There’s a wiki over here that has some useful pointers to stuff. The one that has made me most happy is the discovery of tbp which gives you access to the extra thinkpad buttons, so I now have forward and backward keys do sane things in Firefox, and it also puts up an on screen display for when you change volume etc.
