Too many chatting programs!

IM is all the rage these days, and I’m all for it. It’s a handy way to keep in touch with friends, family, work peeps, etc. But take a look at my dock:

I currently need to run 4 chat programs to get coverage of most the people I know who use chat. It’s mad - that’s just under a third of all icons on my dock, and just under half of the ones that are actively running. Madness.
