Album mining
In addition to buying the occasional new release, I’m actively trying to fill the blanks from my record collection. The other week I got some ELO, before that a Beastie Boys anthology, and before that Pink Floyd’s the Wall. Today was a bit of a success on that front - I had a 20 quid HMV voucher to spend, and I found 4 albums that I’ve wanted for a while in their 4-for-20 section. Thus I’ve now added to my iTunes library De La Soul’s 3 Feet High and Rising, Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells (of which I had the third version, but damned if I can find it at the moment), R.E.M.’s Document (old R.E.M. good, modern R.E.M. (since NAIHF) bad…), and Oasis’s Definitely Maybe (not the height of musical style, but has its moments). Leaving my iTunes library at 2716 songs (8 days, 1 hour, 17 minutes, and 23 seconds, apparently) - and still I want more dammit! :)
