Fahrenheit 9/11
Being a wooly liberal, I’m looking forward to Michael Moore’s latest film, Fehrenheit 9/11, a look at Bush and the Iraq war, the trailer for which is linked below (which contains a good Bushism or two). From the trailer it looks like it’ll follow along the lines of his last book “Dude, Where’s My Country?”. The book was quite ranty compared to Stupid White Men, but none-the-less a very good read with some very interesting insights to the goings on of the US Government. Anyway, it’s out here on 9th July.
This latest Moore film has certainly received a lot more in the way of counter attack from the US right wing. Probably this is down to 1) the success of his last film, and 2) he’s gunning for the current President as he’s trying to get re-elected. The main thrust seems to be that the film is sold as a documentary, yet is biased against Bush. Well, no way! It’s not like Michael Moore has kept hidden his feelings on the matter. I think most people know when they go and see this film it’s a reflection of what Michael Moore thinks. But that doesn’t make it any more interesting. If nothing else, it’ll hopefully make more people interested in finding out for themselves who’s telling the truth. And that can’t be a bad thing which ever way you vote.
