Not that I’m trawling Apple’s movie trailers site at all… Here’s a sequel that I’m both looking forward to and suspicious of. I loved the Bourne Identity, which was a freshish take on the action movie, with Matt Damon as someone with amnesia discovering he used to be an assassin for the US and is being hunted down by his ex-colleages (most notibly by the very good Clive Owen). It was very good both in term of teh general story, the ending, and just the way the entire film was shot (they did like Ronin and went European).

Anyway, it would be very easy, I dare say profitable, and almost certainly dull, to produce a sequel to this film where they find him again and essentially repeat the first film. But the trailer looks good, so I hope they’ve done something good with the plot. Actually, I say they, but it is based on a trilogy of novels by Robert Ludlum (the third being called The Bourne Ultimatum), so who knows. I guess we can expect a thrid film in another couple of years, and perhaps The Bourne Pension after that :)
