a few revisions beind the VTech mac cluster
OSDI fun. Although I have all the results I’m going to put in the paper, I decided to quickly add something that was in future work to the OS I developed for my PhD so I could state it’s a feature rather than a todo. Shouldn’t take long to add. So I dug everything up, and, as my iBook’s in the lab, I’ve got my processor simulator and OS all compiled up on the G3 blue and white I have at home. See the pretty picture:
Ahh, the slowness :) I don’t recommend this if you’re looking for a platform for such work. Hopefully what I want to add won’t take long, otherwise I might go mad in the process (well, madder).
The Planet Lab workshop seemed to be a success. I crashed out earlier today (or yesterday as it is now) - I was out drinking Friday night after the first day and then I had to be there early on Saturday morning to let everyone in. I felt fine most the day until about 5 or 6 when my body just decided to start shutting down. This means the current revision on my OSDI paper is later than I wanted it to be, but it’s not the end of the world (yet). Hopefully I should get that done tomorrow.
Oh, and Neil got me a copy of the latest Radiohead EP, Com Lag, which is an import collection of B-sides from the Hail To The Thief singles. A review will be coming soon, but for now I’m liking it.
