noWax

I spotted this in a newspaper today (a bad side effect of sitting in Savino’s coffee chop in town, which is littered with papers - I’d taken my book, but given the amount of olive oil and balsamic vinegar I’d showered my lunch with, I thought reading the paper was safer - and usually its papers that normally you’d not be seen dead with, for example the Daily Tory^H^H^Helegraph, but it does pass the time) - the craze of having clubs that have iPod nighs is coming over to the UK. Here people are meant to turn up with their iPod loaded and ready to rock, and they have seven minutes to control the night. In the US people with sucky music get booed off, but in the UK everyone’s far to polite for that :) I think normally the idea is to have a night of democratically chosen good music, but I did like this note on the noWax web site:

The original noWax returns to Hoxton in May.This time lets see who can play the worst record ever made? I’ve got some David Hasslehof classics that may be contenders?

Pffft - David Hasselhoff is tame - I’ve still got some William Shatner mp3s lurking about somehwere, and I’m not afraid to use them…
