Going nowhere

2 Mar 2004

Cars are very useful things. I hate driving, but having one about is very handy. That is, until you get halfway across a busy junction and they just mysteriously cease to work. Fortunately two very kind people gave me a hand getting the car to somewhere safer, and then a nice man came from the RAC to look at the car, and after discovering the nature of the damage took me, and said dead car, toa garage. I’m not up on how cars work, but I’m told the Cam belt has gone (and I never even put the car in the Cam…), but the real problem is the secondry damage caused by not having the cam belt - apparently it stops bits of engine colliding when they’re not meant to, so basically it looks likely that the engine internals will be a bit buggered too. I await the bill with fear.
