Toys at work
Spent the last day or there abouts getting setup to do some embedded systems work using a Triscend A7 development board. This required me to find a PC on which to run the dev tools. It’s been a while since I’ve used Windows, so it was a good excuse for me to do an XP install and try it out for the first time (I typically run Mac OS X and FreeBSD at work).
Anyway, I now have everything set up, only the JTAG downloader isn’t working for some reason. It tests okay, but when I try to use it from Triscend’s download software it doesn’t work. This might be due to my using a version that’s two years old, so I need to get a more up to date version and try, but I’m waiting till I get a valid license file before I try that.
My work setup is benefitting from the new osx2x release, as I’m using my mac in the middle and then osx2x to control both the FreeBSD box to the left and the XP box to the right all from the mac’s keyboard and mouse. It’s working really well at the moment.
