It’s the third annual sys-admin appreciation day today. Time to go and let support folk (you know, those people you spend half the time cursing for some reason or another) know you appreciate what they’re doing for you. I freely admit I spend time cursing the support staff here, and we’ve got a good support staff. I suspect part the problem is that I’m a hair trigger wnat it done yesterday kind of person and don’t appreciate that I’m just one in several hundred users :) but then, I have the root password here, so I tend ot just fix myself these days. But the support here are in fact very good, and do especially well when you consider how big we are and all the weird (and most likely conflicting at times) requests a computing science research centre must generate. Here’s to you guys.
