I’m confused. I’ve just been to the University book shop (a John Smiths) to look for some electrical engineering books, only to discover that it was almost empty of technical books (at least they had virtual no engineering or science books that I could see). When I enquired about this, I was told that they didn’t really have any in, ‘cos, you know, the students (by which I assume she means the undergrads) have kinda gone now. Hello? What kind of lame excuse is that? Don’t postgrads and staff need books? Gah. Little wonder that John Smiths had to close down their non-university shops - probably, ‘cos, you know, the people wanted books, and they didn’t sell em. Gah Gah Gah.*
