Plymouth Gin

1 May 2003

In the last year I’ve become something of a cocktail consumer, and one of my favourite has to be a Tom Collins: two shots of gin, juice of half a lemon, a little powedered sugar, all shaken over ice, poured into an ice filled glass, and then topped up with sparkling water. Ahhhhhh….

Anyway, the quick amoungst you will have noted that you need gin for this. I got a new bottle of gin the other day, and out of luck managed to score a special offer on a bottle of Plymouth Gin, and it is top stuff. I’ve tried various gins over the last year: Gordon’s, Bombay Sapphire, some local organic gin, but this has to be the best. It’s really smooth and gentle, and makes for a superb cocktial. I’ve never really been a dry martini man, prefering vodka martinis, but I think I might give them another whirl with this. Top stuff.
