Getting away from it
When I was last visiting Black Bear I bumped into another chap with a Buell Ulysses. He was there to get a few bits added to his Uly, similar to me. He even had a few Touratech parts being added, similar to me. The difference was that once his bike was finished, it was being shipped to Alaska and he was then riding it down from Alaska to Argentina over half a year!
So far he seems to have made good progress, as recorded on the Black Bear news feed here, and there’ll be some more info in the upcoming UKBEG newsletter due out soon.
He clearly has a very understanding employer, and presumably a nice amount of savings. I fear I’ll need to wait for CamVine to make it big before I go off on such jaunts (assuming I can persuade Laura to join me :). For now I’m content to live such dreams vicariously through things like reading Al’s updates on the UKBEG forum, and waiting for the Long Way Down book/DVD to appear. One day though…
