Destination Smart World

Yesterday Laura introduced me to the world of Smart shows, by taking me to Destination Brooklands – a Smart show held at the Mercedes-Benz World location at Brooklands, just outside London. There were a lot of Smarts there:

Lots of smart owners and their many smart cars.

We had a look around the other cars there, and we got to test drive the new ForTwo model. It was quite fun to drive, being shown around the Mercedes test track by a professional driver. On the wet section we were encouraged to try and make it spin to cause the ForTwo’s magic braking system to kick in and keep us on track – this it indeed did very well, despite my efforts to get the car to slide! Laura got this pic of me trying to stress test the ForTwo:

It was a good day out, although there were few merchandise stands, so Laura wasn’t able to bling her car to the max ;) At the end we did spot what I think must be the new US version of the Smart ForTwo:
