Bright lichen
In the otherwise damp and overcast day, the forest still had these beautiful specs of bright lichen, that stood out both in brightness and texture.
This appears to be a beard lichen, aka Usnea, which grows in areas with clean air, and the Brecon Beacons certainly had that in abundance. One side effect of lockdown that I’ve noticed is I’m much more aware of how much pollution the traffic in Cambridge causes, so getting into the Wilderness for a few days was nice.
Other than a crop and border (sorry Zach - but I felt this needed a white background rather than Flickr’s standard grey :) this is the raw straight from camera using the standard Sony profile. Sony’s colours often seem a bit off, but in the forest here it’s worked really well.
