Workbench still life
Before COVID hit and forced us into regular lockdowns, I spent the last few years learning to build guitars. Unfortunately lockdowns have meant this last 12 months I’ve had very little time in the workshop, and guitar building is starting to feel quite remote. I’m grateful that I’ve had other things like photography and baking to put my creative energy into, but I do miss woodwork.
This is definitely a shot where I wish I’d managed somehow to make it feel sharper, but the lack of natural light in the workshop meant that even with ISO 400 film to get anything here I had to shoot wide open, so coupled with the grain this shot has quite a soft feel to it that I don’t think suits the subject.
