Reeds in the light
I liked how the sunlight was catching these reeds, and the camera has done quite a good job of capturing it - this is straight out of camera, other than a crop to give it a 4x5 frame.
I never used to crop my images, but these days I tend to pick one of the standard film framing ratios: 4x5, 6x7, 1x1 or even for wide photos I’ll use the 65x24 ratio from the X-Pan. There’s nothing magic about these numbers, but I find having some restriction of framing saves me spending a long time trying to get the crop just right, and having a set of regular options helps me get used to their impact and learn which one I’ll likely reach for in a given circumstance.
