my name is mwd: photos

This is the local jam factory, with it’s tower catching the sun nicely. I like how the sun reflects off the tower from behind me, and the little line of clouds. I have to confess that I didn’t see the clouds when I took the photo, only after, and I wish I’d been able to frame it a bit more deliberately around them.

I spent a while with this one trying to process the raw to match in camera black and white processing. The in camera version was almost perfect, but I didn’t have lens corrections on and it made the tower look a little Pisa like. So as a sort of lesson to myself I went about trying to recreate the in camera look as best I could.

The sky, as a result is heavily vignetted, not a look I tend to go for these days, but it does overall remind me of black and white film pictures I’ve taken with the way the highlights and vignetting appear, so to me works in this context.
