The little gorge that could
This gorge is wonderfully dramatic, cutting through the otherwise flat plains as it does. It is literally dwarfed by what’s only 15 miles further up the road - The Grand Canyon - but that’s just unreal and hard to get your head around, and so I found this smaller gorge somehow more beautiful than its bigger neighbor.
A professional photographer I know once said to me HDR is mostly used by those who don’t understand light, and here that definitely applied to younger me. This isn’t HDR, but was shot as part of a bracketed set, however the information was in the RAW on the single shot, I just needed to adjust the curve carefully to bring it out by hand.
