The forest that surrounds
Before the vista of the Grand Canyon itself confused us, we were first surprised by the forest that the canyon sits in, which we’d not expected at all. The canyon itself is obviously rocky, and North East Arizona had all been rocky, so we expected the area around the canyon to be similarly so, but it is in fact densely wooded.
This is one of the few good pictures I got from in the helicopter tour we did. I’d never been in a helicopter before, and the sights to see were enough to process, so my camera work isn’t the best. But I do love how this view (I think towards the airport) has a mystic mountain vibe to it.
