my name is mwd: photos

As most people probably do, we took a boat tour on the waters of Amsterdam. This picture is from the actual river Amstel, in an attempt to capture both the iconic building style (yet another example of tax laws having odd consequences) and the house boats that line the river and canals.

I like the composition here, but I really should have had my camera at a narrower aperture for this shot, as the houses are a bit out of focus. I think I can just about get away with it when viewed on a webpage, but probably not one to print. Still, despite the technical flaw it does remind me of the city well.
