Sunset at the Canyon
As I mentioned before, sunset at the Canyon is a great time to become more aware of the canyon’s shape and form, as the long shadows start to highlight the different peaks within.
In this photo, like with others, I was frustrated with a lack of clarity and definition in the picture, and I belated realized that this again is my inability to grasp how big the canyon is: no wonder there’s some hazing there when what you’re photographing is ten miles away! In my mind I’m still using expectations based on how far away the otherside of a valley or canyon would be, and that just doesn’t hold at the Grand Canyon as it’s so big. Not to say you can’t get tack sharp pictures, but I imagine you’d need the right day for it.
