The low winter sun made a rare appearance today. Shooting into the sun gives a very other-worldly image, as the bright park descends into darkness in contrast as the camera tries to cope. The bird in flight here makes this photo for me, despite my not being aware of it at the time.
I have, framed in our living room, an earlier picture of what I think is the same tree from another angle I took almost 15 years ago. That pictures serves as a reminder to me that whilst I occasionally get hung up on my camera gear, I still have hung in my house a picture I’m proud of that I took with a cheap ebay early consumer DSLR and kit lens and it looks no worse for it (at least in printed form rather than pixel peeping).
I tried editing this picture, but in the end just a simple crop was all I did. All my other adjustments seemed to never look as good as the "before" version.
