I wish I could recall more about this place, and my internet search abilities are failing me. It’s a small concrete room set into a small grass hill at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Once inside all you can see is the clean uniform space and the sky, visible through a large square opening at the top. It’s a nice contemplative space, which feels very distant from the natural surroundings just metres away from you. It was a nice contemplative space. If anyone does know what this piece is and who it’s by, do let me know.
Here I was going for my usual symmetry shot, though I had to crop this one heavily. I was hoping I’d get more of a contrast between the shadow and the light, but it wasn’t that sunny that day alas.
Update: Laura found it - it’s Deer Shelter Skyspace by James Turrell.
