Cambridge is a weird place, where the past looms over a present that appears often to look like the past also.
Originally this was meant to be a picture of the old chestnut tree by the chapel, but I couldn’t decide between a colour process which showed off the tree and looked current, or a black and white photo which implicitly looked old (which wasn’t my intent, that’s just how these buildings look when you put them in black and white). This was a vague attempt to hedge my bets and it didn’t really come out as I hoped, but I learned a bunch along the way. Notably the relative weight of the two halves is impacted significantly by what is in each part, rather than just where the centre of the frame is.
So not that happy with the specific result, but an interesting exercise.
