In mid 2016 my other half got to live at Moffat Field for two months as part of her work with a company looking to deploy modern digital manufacturing maker kit (3D printers, vacuum formers, etc.) in disaster relief situations. I was fortunate enough to get to go visit Moffat Field as a result, which was like one of the coolest things ever - getting to visit an actual NASA base (though clearly not as cool as staying there for two months, but I’ll take what I can get :).
I have lots of pictures of Moffat Field for a walk we did (where I got to have a space-milkshake - admittedly just a regular milkshake, but to me anything on this base got a space- prefix), but most of the my attempts to photograph the iconic hanger never worked out - it really is a challenging subject to capture that gets across just how big it is. This photo doesn’t really achieve that either, but the plane gives some context, and sums up the visit for me.
