I like this scene, lit by the harsh early morning sun. Firstly, it’s just a bit odd, with the odd label on the dumped filing cabinet in front of the skip sign.

For all the weirdness it’s a fairly mundane scene, but there’s lots I like about it as a photograph: I also like the colours, which along with the design of the gate, have a very 70s feel to them for me; I like the shadow on the right that almost feels like a bad exposure, and I like the flash of blue helps bring it all together somehow.
