Nanna
This is Joyce, or as I’ve always known her, Nanna, my Mum’s Mum.
I don’t have many family pictures, and generally when I do they’re just random group snaps, but I was stumble across this portrait of her, which captures my mental image of her near perfectly, with that slight smile there and dressed for activity despite the inclement weather. This day both me (up from Cambridge) and my sister (down from Glasgow with her kids) and met up back in the two where we grew up with some other family and headed out to the beach - another thing I associate with her from growing up.
She’s having a rough time health wise at the moment, so I’m glad I came across this picture, and to have this reminder of who she is captured.
