my name is mwd: photos

I’ve hired a telephoto lens for a wildlife photography experience day I’m going on next week, and I’ve never really used a telephoto lens before, so I’ve been trying to get some practice in. So far, I’m quite pleased with the lens, just less so my familiarity with it :)

Thankfully the robin in our garden was happy to pose whilst I figured out things.

The main challenge is getting used to the DoF/aperture - I’m very used to wide 35mm or there abouts, and I’m having to now rely on auto-ISO and resist just going to the widest aperture, as at this distance that’s way too shallow on this amount of zoom.
