I used to head down to London frequently in the past, both for work and fun, and I’d always find time to have a great coffee, as back then there wasn’t the range of choice in my hometown that there is today. Back then any excuse I could muster to visit Prufrock, Shoreditch Grind, or Monmouth was taken.
Coffee, like motorcycling, is something I find difficult to capture in photo in a way that conveys what it means to me, and I guess both are done to death as a subject anyway. I think they work better, like here, where it’s more of a passing shot of the subject rather than directly of the thing.
I like this one though, which was almost certainly taken in a very long queue on a weekend morning as those in London’s Southbank get up after the Friday night before and need their pick-me-up.
