I was trawling back through the archives when I found this, and there’s so many memories associated with this simple picture.
Paris - we used to go to Paris a lot back then, before naturally finding other places to go. But I have fond memories of just wandering around Paris and cafes.
I remember for this trip, when I was still on my first camera, a Canon Digital Rebel, I rented this 10mm Sigma fish eye and it was awesome fun, particularly in a dense city like Paris. Whilst I love my 12mm Ziess, it’s not quite as fun as this was (albeit a lot more practical).
And I’ve always loved the playful nature of Space Invader’s work, and I have a lot of photos of them from where I’ve found them. When looking up on google maps where this photo was taken, I see that this one has been mostly destroyed, probably by someone trying to take it for themselves, and so whilst not the best picture, I thought I should post this as a memory of art lost.
