Lots to see in the Fabric District
Liverpool’s Fabric District, which was home to a local textile industry that later fell away is now becoming active again with local businesses being encouraged to move there. As a photographer it’s worth a visit as there’s lots of amazing murals and lots of lovely old buildings to photos. Sometimes, as here, you can do both at once.
This mural was my phone backdrop for many years, and is by Shane O’Malley, who does some amazing colourful geometric work.
I generally shy away from this kind of composition as getting the lines right without a tilt/shift lens (and I imagine even if you have one) is quite difficult. This one could be better, but I just like the pairing of the buildings here enough to overcome my perfectionism on the lines.
