As a surprise treat, Laura took me to ride Le Grand Éléphant in Nantes as a belated birthday present. It was a wonderful surprise, and I consider myself a very fortunate person. If you ever get the chance, I can highly recommend visiting Les Machines de l’île - they have much more than just the elephant there.

I say a surprise, but I did manage to guess we were going to Nantes, much to Laura’s surprise. My method was to guess places based on things around me, as I had no context for where it might be she was taking me. We were buying a bottle of wine from a shop shortly after she told me of the surprise trip, and I read the place from the label and asked "are we going to Nantes?" and she looked at me surprised and said "how did you guess‽" - since then if I’m ever stuck I just turn to bottles of wine for inspiration ;)
