Day 248 of 365.
This is a bit of a rushed job on a sculpture at Brighton - I’m at a conference today and slipping this in the brief interlude between the day’s events and the evening’s events.
The processing thing is inspired by the artwork of Storm Thorgerson. I have a collection of his artwork in a book called Taken By Storm, which is full of amazing photographs he’s taken for album covers over the years. Most people will probably know him for his Pink Floyd album covers.
This sculpture down on the Brighton waterfront reminds me very much of many of his artworks, where there is a natural scene juxtaposed against something almost unworldly. I guess a particular example of this would be the cover for The Division Bell, but also think there’s some Mars Volta covers that have this theme.
