I loved these granite sculptures by Masayuki Koorida, mixing organic shapes with inorganic materials in an almost alien set of shapes. There were quite a few sculptures, but this pair, which I think were called Flower, were my favourites.
Documenting them in the setting was quite hard. I have an older processing of this picture which I did much more underexposed that shows off the reflective polish on the granite much better, but at the expense of the trees. But you can’t have things too bright otherwise the sky puncturing through the trees becomes very distracting. Overall I’m dissatisfied with the pictures I got, as they don’t really capture how alien these things looked in their environment, but I like the art it documents enough that I wanted to still share the image.
