The previous evening there had been a wonderful sunset over the estuary, but I’d not managed to get out in time. The following day I did, but the sun had set into clouds. But as I waited I was rewarded with this, which I have to confess came out of the camera better than I remember it in reality - I suspect because in reality I was so focussed on the sun lines I didn’t stop to take in the broader context.

I like the painting like clouds here, though I wish I somehow could make the lower section pop. I’ve had to disregard the usual framing rule of thirds here, as when I did that I felt the sky lost it’s sense of scale.
